Dieke Oele obtained her PhD!

On March 15, 2018, Dieke Oele successfully defended her PhD thesis Annotated Translation with Interlingual Word Representations, which was supervised by Gertjan van Noord. This was no easy task, since the examining committee consisted of (among others) Piek Vossen and Andy Way. Her thesis was part of the QTleap project (Quality Translation by Deep Language Engineering Approaches). Dieke also did an interview with the Ukrant about her thesis, which is worth a read!

Dr. Oele has now moved to industry, working for Samsung in München. This leaves the members of the CL group without her natural leadership regarding drinks on Friday afternoon. Nevertheless, we wish Dieke all the best in Germany. Auf Wiedersehen!
