Image Analysis and Machine Learning applied to fight cybercrime

Nowadays, criminal activities are very present on the Internet and Law Enforcement Agencies need more help than ever to fight them. Methods based on Artificial Intelligence, especially those using Computer Vision and Machine Learning, are more than necessary to support police officers in this fight. In this talk, Enrique Alegre will present some of the applications and research lines he has been working on for the last ten years in collaboration with INCIBE, the Spanish Institute for Cybersecurity, and also during his participation in three European Projects focused on the fight against Child Sexual Exploitation. Face detection or age estimation applied to partially occluded faces and combined later on with a pornography classifier, the use of object retrieval or scene recognition to solve police cases, and the application of Text-spotting or perceptual hashing in this field, among others, are some of the problems that will be analysed and discussed.
