Vici grant of 1.5 million EUR for Prof. Otto
Prof. S. Otto of the Stratingh Institute for Chemistry , will receive EUR 1.5 million for his research project ‘Darwinian evolution of molecules’ in the coming five years. He has been awarded a Vici grant as part of NWO’s Innovational Research Incentives Scheme (‘Vernieuwingsimpuls’). This year there were over 200 applicants for a Vici grant, 128 of whom were invited to further elaborate their proposal. A total of 32 academics, of which 3 at the University of Groningen, have eventually been awarded Vici grants. The Vici grants are intended for ‘excellent, experienced researchers who have successfully developed a new research line and thus established themselves prominently at both national and international levels’, says NWO, the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research.
