Remarkable books ('Spraakmakende Boeken' ) is an annual series of seven lectures about literature open to the public. On seven Thursday evenings a literature specialist (often a staff member of the Faculty of Arts itself) will discuss a book which has drawn a lot of attention. One of the seven books to be discussed is always a well-known classic literary masterpiece ('Herontdek een meesterwerk' means 'Re-discover a masterpiece'). As this series is aimed at all enthusiastic readers of literature in the vicinity of the city of Groningen the lectures are presented in Dutch.
