University of Groningen

 

Tabu day is a one-day linguistics conference which will take place on June 8th this year. Reseachers and other interested people from inside and outside Groningen University are very welcome to participate. 

 

Program

At Tabu day, various contributions in the field of linguistics are presented.

Both at the beginning and at the end of the day, there is a lecture by a guest speaker. This year, these keynote speakers will be:

1. Prof. dr. Peter Culicover, professor in Linguistics, from Ohio State University. His talk will be on Syntactic Nuts, Core and Periphery, and Universal Grammar [PDF].
2. Dr. Ina Bornkessel-Schlesewsky, Head of the Junior Research Group Neurotypology at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences, Leipzig. The title of her talk is: Explaining universals of language comprehension: Evidence from neurotypology [PDF].
