Aim of the Honours College

The Honours College will give talented, motivated students the chance to be challenged even more by following Honours programmes and taking part in numerous other activities. The main aim of the Honours programmes at the University of Groningen is to develop talent and initiative.

The College will teach students:

  • to master their discipline and exercise it at a higher level
  • to develop a wide view and look beyond the boundaries of their discipline
  • to play a prominent role within and outside their own discipline and make a significant contribution to society.

Interested?

The Honours College offers a Bachelor's Honours programme for Bachelor students, which consists of a broadening part and a deepening part. This programme has a study load of 45 ECTS credit points besides the 180 ECTS credit points from your regular Bachelor's programme.

The Honours College also offers a Master's Honours programme especially for Master students. This programme has a study load of 15 ECTS besides the 60 (or 90/120/180) ECTS credit points from your regular Master's programme.

Extra Information session Bachelor's Honours Programme

 

On Monday 30th January, starting 16.00 pm, an information session will be held especially for Law students, about amongst other things the deepening part of the Honours Programme. The session will be in room 216 in the tower of the Academic building (second floor).

On Monday 13th February 2012 from 16.00 - 17.00 p.m. an extra general information session about the Bachelor's programma of the Honours College. The session will be held at room 216 in the tower of the Academic building (second floor).
