03 april 2012

The Belgian Federal Science Policy Office (BELSPO) has approved the proposal for the Interuniversity Attraction Pole Developing crucial Statistical methods for Understanding major complex Dynamic Systems in natural, biomedical and social sciences (StUDyS) . This is a research collaboration for the period 2012-2017, in which the statistical modeling groups of the RUG Department of Sociology, led by professor Tom Snijders, and of the Department of Psychology, led by professor Rob Meijer, work together as one of the international partners with the University of Leuven, Belgium.

This awarded proposal will give possibilities for research collaboration, including mutual visits of researchers. Research topics to which the researchers of the University of Groningen will contribute are dynamics in complex systems, dynamics of stochastic systems and the impact of non-observed characteristics, and the practical use of the developed methods.
