Linnaeusborg

As of December 2010, the new building at the Zernike campus accomodates both education and research in the field of biology and life sciences:

The other main buildings of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences are nearby, thus forming a cluster on the Groningen Zernike campus.  The research institute GRIP (Groningen Research Institute of Pharmacy) islocated at the Antonius Deusinglaan in Groningen, close to the University Medical Center Groningen.

The names of many buildings of the Groningen university end in ‘borg’, a word that is typical for the Dutch provinces Groningen and Drenthe and refers to their manor houses and country estates that can date back as far as the fourteenth century.
