Six 'Best science students' of the Netherlands

On November 30th, six students of the Faculty of Science and Engineering (formerly known as the Faculty of Science and Engineering), University of Groningen, were presented with the Young Talent Prize by the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities ( KHMW ) in Haarlem. They are the best first-year student of the Netherlands in their field, with the highest average score of their year. The awarded students are:

Zarief Hasrat – in Chemistry
Jonny Cranston – in Chemical Engineering
Rafael Bankosegger – in Computer Science
Thijmen van der Loop – in Life Science and Technology
Jesse Vogel – in Physics and Applied Physics
Tysger Boelens – in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics

The Young Talent Prizes are made possible by several companies, for example: ORTEC, Physica Foundation, Ngi-NGN Platform for IT-professionals, NWO-Chemische Wetenschappen, Philips, Shell Global Solutions International, Océ, Amsterdam Harbour company N.V. en Fokker Technologies
