ENW-KLEIN grant for Dr. Seri
Dr. Marcello Seri of the Bernoulli Institute for Mathematics, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence has been awarded an ENW-KLEIN grant from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) worth EUR 275,000. The grant is for his project 'Magnetic car parks and superconductors’. The aim of the project is to bring new advances on the spectral analysis of magnetic Schrödinger operators on curved spaces employing new ideas from sub-Riemannian geometry. This is the geometry of constrained systems - like a falling cat or a car being parked. A particular application of the results is the rigorous description of the nucleation of surface superconductivity on non-flat media.
The ENW-KLEIN grant offers researchers the opportunity to establish scientific innovations that can form the basis for the research themes of the future. In this round, fifteen applications have been awarded by the board of the NWO. More information about this round is available on the NWO website.
