New Engineering Directors

19 September 2023

We are pleased to inform you that Prof Moniek Tromp and Prof Bayu Jayawardhana are the new engineering directors. They take over this role from prof Jacquelien Scherpen who had this role since 2016 and recently took up the function of Rector magnifus of the University of Groningen. This was announced by our Dean Joost Frenken at the GEC annual scientific meeting. Moniek is also director of Zernike Institute of Advanced Materials and Bayu is director of the Engineering and Technology institute. They are both well renowned researchers with a large network and their knowledge and experience is very valuable to the GEC. Their joint directorship is expected to enhance our university-wide collaborations, foster stronger ties with the industrial sector in Northern Netherlands, and facilitate productive partnerships with colleagues within the TU federation. We look forward to their valuable contributions to our community.
