General introduction on the EMMTEC terrain

On Friday 7 June 2019, 115 students of the Bachelor’s degree programmes in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering went on an excursion as part of their course 'Science, Ethics, Technology and Society' . The Groningen Engineering Business Center organized the excursion in cooperation with the SUSPACC cluster and took place in Emmen on the EMMTEC terrain. Seven companies offered an excursion: Cumapol , Senbis , Innofil3D , DSM , Teijin Aramid , Morssinkhof plastics and EMMTEC services .

Each student could choose one excursion in the morning and one excursion in the afternoon about the ethical dilemmas and sustainable challenges the companies are facing. The contents of the excursions will be used for the essay the students have to write to pass the course. During the lunch break, the companies were available for one-on-one conversations with students interested in internships at these companies.

Both students and companies were very enthusiastic about the excursion, because the students learned about the various companies in Emmen and the companies were able to introduce themselves to a large number of students.
