Niels Hermes elected as President of the International Corporate Governance Society
During the annual conference of the International Corporate Governance Society (ICGS), Niels Hermes was elected as President of the society. ICGS is an academic forum for corporate governance scholars that enhances research, teaching, and consulting on corporate governance systems, practices, and outcomes throughout the global economy.
ICGS aims at bringing together scholars from different fields, such as economics, management, finance, accounting, sociology, psychology and law, to stimulate interdisciplinary research. It also aims at connecting researchers and practitioners to discuss various topics in corporate governance. Its members come from all over the world with an emphasis on Europe and North America.
Dr Hermes, Professor of International Finance at the Faculty of Economics and Business, is looking forward to this new opportunity. "As President of ICGS, my aim for the coming years is to further develop and strengthen the global network of researchers and practitioners working on corporate governance, and to create value for the members of the society by organizing the annual conference and various other activities, such as webinars, micro-communities, et cetera." Next year, the conference will be held at IE Business School in Madrid.
