Course information

Target group

This winter school is intended for BA/MA/PhD/Postdocs in the fields of European Studies, Literary Studies, Linguistic Studies and Political Studies/with a background in Social Sciences.
It is expected that the participants have a sufficient command of English language to not only follow passively but to participate actively in the discussions.

Programme

The winter school programme will start on 19 Feb and end on 23 Feb.

Learning outcomes

After this winter school you are able to:

  • mobilise the wide range of transnational and multi-disciplinary perspectives necessary to understanding the relationships of culture, European integration and “public space” in Southern Europe.
  • attain a more complex and comprehensive understanding of the cultural dimensions of European integration.
  • discover and analyse historical, cultural, linguistic and political models for integration in Europe.
  • hone interpretative, analytical and close reading skills through the engagement with individual literary, political and linguistic representations.
Course load

The course load is estimated at 30 hours.

This winter school is coordinated by Prof. Dr. Pablo Valdivia, Chair of European Culture and Literature, Faculty of Arts of the University Groningen, Dr. Manuel de la Fuente, University of Valencia and Anna Knigge, University of Groningen.
