PhD Conference

On June 22nd 2017 the Graduate School Campus Fryslân (GSCF) will organize a PhD conference for PhD researchers of RUG/Campus Fryslân and the former UCF. PhD researchers will write an abstract (not a full paper) which will be presented during the PhD conference. The abstract shall be drawn up along the lines of the following format:

1.     Research Question(s)
Which central research question(s) is/are addressed in your PhD research project?

2.     Hypothesis
What are the hypotheses you will challenge with your research?

3.     Methods
What research methods are used and will be used during the PhD project?

4.     Outcome
Elaborate on possible results and the scientific and societal impact of the PhD research.
a.     (Foreseen) Scientific Outcomes
Which scientific outcomes have been or will be realized with your research?
b.   (Foreseen) Societal Impact
What is the societal impact of your research project.

5.     What are the coming steps in your research?

Because the audience will be PhD researchers and supervisors in diverse scientific fields, you are advised to attune your abstract and presentation to this diverse audience.

The abstracts and presentations together will be assessed by a committee in relation to the GSCF Conference Best Performance Award of € 250,- The committee will consist of scientists of RUG/Campus Fryslân and external scholars.
