Theory and practical experience

In 2010, when I was an undergraduate student, I wrote a dream to study abroad with a scholarship, and five years later the dream came true! I was so thankful to God because, after endless efforts, I was finally awarded a full-scholarship from LPDP (Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education) and not long after that, I got admitted in a one-year master program at the University of Groningen. As an English teacher in Indonesia, this master program is really what I need. I not only learn about the theory, but also I am equipped with the practical experience. I believe that it will surely benefit me in the future as I would like to continue my career in teaching and education, especially TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language).

Peaceful and pleasant atmosphere

Moreover, RUG offers free basic Dutch language courses to all international students who are interested in participating. I myself had a chance to join the course, and it was very nice and worth trying! More importantly, the days of my study are supported by a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere in Groningen. This beautiful city is well-known as a ‘student city’ as every fifth person in Groningen is a student. Groningen is also one of Best Bike Cities in the world, but please do not forget to always lock up your bikes wherever you park!

Finally, I would like to say "Er gaat niets boven Groningen -- Nothing tops Groningen!"
