Mystic Microcosms: The Hidden Beauty of Microorganisms

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of bacteria and fungi? Something unhealthy, dirty, or even dangerous? In the exhibition Mystic Microcosms, artist and biobased designer Lianne Regtuit invites you to let go of these assumptions and explore the fascinating micro-world with fresh eyes. Microorganisms form the foundation of all life on Earth. Without them, the world as we know it would not exist.
Lianne Regtuit, a graduate of Academie Minerva in Groningen, combines art, nature, and science in her work. She delves into the world of bacteria and fungi: organisms that often remain invisible, yet are of immeasurable value. Through her practice, she explores their underappreciated beauty and reveals how processes of decay can transform into something new.
With the exhibition Mystic Microcosms, Lianne hopes to inspire visitors to look at nature differently and to develop a deeper appreciation for the fragile yet powerful micro-life that surrounds us.
