Dissertation: Neutrophil-endothelial interaction in ANCA-associated vasculitis

Inflammation of the smallest blood vessels is associated with antineutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibodies. The focus of this thesis is on the mechanisms underlying the retaining of neutrophils in the vascular wall and the ensuing vascular damage. Furthermore, the expression of ANCA antigens, such as membrane-bound proteinase-3 as an important event for ANCA-induced neutrophil activation was investigated.
