Traffic and Environmental Psychology (Verkeerspsychologie, Omgevingspsychologie)

Traffic and environmental research at the University of Groningen goes back to the previous century, when John Michon founded the Traffic Research Centre in Haren in 1977. At present the Groningen Traffic and Environmental Psychology Group is a working group within the Department of Psychology.The group’s members have backgrounds in social psychology, experimental psychology, and sociology. The expertise of this group covers a wide range of topics relevant to traffic safety, behaviour change, and the evaluation of the behavioural effects of new technology.
