Introduction

What makes a text a good or captivating text? How is editing part of the writing and publishing process? How does your knowledge of literature help you to guide a text from writer to reader? Do you recognize repetitions, inconsistencies, faulty logic, and other problems that are often overlooked in texts? These and other questions are encountered in this unique English literature programme which focuses on all aspects of writing, editing and publishing.

Writing and editing English texts

As an English graduate you will be expected to provide correct and efficacious English texts as well as guidance in writing. This programme trains graduates with a near-native command of English to transfer their literary knowledge into an optimal ability to write and edit English texts. You will become aware of different conventions governing genres, styles and audiences, and be able to work authoritatively in the fields of writing, publishing and editing. A placement period and Master’s dissertation complete your degree.
