Summer School Law: Islam and Criminal JusticeThe Faculty of Law of the University of Groningen invites you to join the summer school on Islam and Criminal Justice, which will be held from 14-21 September 2011. This summer school is dealing with several issues with regard to criminal justice and how religion can influence that. Attention will be paid to the criminal law systems of countries in which Shari’ah plays an important role. But also it will be discussed what to do with and for perpetrators that commit offenses or crimes as a result of their religious beliefs and the way criminal law deals with such issues. This summer school is not merely legal; there will also be ample opportunity to discuss criminological aspects. On 15 September 2011 there will be a Conference on the same topic, as part of this summer school.
