Career facilities for partners of new University staff

For a number of years now, the University of Groningen has been offering career advisory facilities to the partners of new members of staff who move with them to Groningen, if they are looking for work in or around Groningen.

The first step is to make an appointment with the personnel advisor/consultant of the unit or faculty of the new member of staff. This discussion will be used to examine what would be the best type of support for the partner.

Possibilities

Here are some examples:

• after registration with the Career Development and Training department, the partner is given the status of internal candidate and will take priority over external candidates for internal vacancies
• an advisory meeting with a careers advisor
• support in finding relevant network contacts
