The overarching objective of the Nieuwenhuis Institute for Educational Research is to increase the knowledge base on education and contribute to the solution of problems within pedagogical and educational practice. This objective is established through theory-related research, and through practice and policy-oriented research.
Although every programme within the Nieuwenhuis Institute has this twofold objective, there are differences among them with respect to the emphasis on theory-related research on the one hand, and practice-oriented research and evaluation on the other. This is described in the mission of each separate programme.
