The Graduate School of Science (GSS) supports excellence in Master's and PhD training across a broad array of scientific disciplines at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Our programmes are world-class, belonging, for instance, to the prestigious CHE Excellence Ranking for the disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics. PhD projects are imbedded in research institutes, where students receive individually-supervised research training of the highest standard. The GSS community is truly international. All aspects of PhD training are in English, and more than 50% of our 600+ PhD students come from countries outside the Netherlands.
