Results survey on PhD supervisionOver the past years various surveys have been held among PhD students by the University Paper (de UK) and by Grasp (Groningen Association for PhD Students). The results give the impression that a serious number of PhD students are not satisfied with their supervisors and consider quitting their research. The PhD Council of the Faculty of Law wanted to know if this was also the case at the Law Faculty and therefore the council held a short survey in the spring of 2008. Surprisingly, the majority of the respondents is very satisfied with their supervision!

This report has been presented to the Graduate School (GGSL) and the Faculty Board of Law. The most important recommendation of the council (see 'Recommendations' on page 13) is that supervisors take into account the minimumstandards. These standards are mentioned in the Supervision and Education Plan (Begeleidings en Opleidingsplan).
