The University of Groningen has a strategic alliance with the universities of Ghent, Göttingen and Uppsala, called U4. In the framework of this alliance, the Faculty of Law of the University of Groningen collaborates in the Legal Research Network, in which -besides the U4-partners- the universities of Bristol, Budapest(ELTE), Turku and Lille-Nord-de-France participate.
The Legal Research Network organizes an annual international conference for staff members and an annual summer school for PhD students in the field of law.
