The University of Groningen is an international institution with partnerships across the world, a great many international students from 60 different countries, and a global dimension to university life. The International Office GMW manages the development of all international student activities for the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences of the University of Groningen. These include providing advice and support to Exchange students, developing collaborative partnerships and exchanges, and internationalising the curriculum.
This website contains practical information for incoming Exchange students who are going to follow courses in Pedagogy and Educational Sciences, Psychology, or Sociology. Incoming Exchange students are also allowed to follow courses at other faculties of our university but should always inform the International Office first.
Through the menu to the left you can go directly to the Exchange sites of the different departments of our faculty: Pedagogy and Educational Sciences, Psychology, or Sociology. In the menu you also find the contact details of our International Office, and a link to the University of Groningen central Exchange sites for all practical information concerning visa, housing etc.
If you would like to study with us as an Exchange student, you have to apply through the International Office of your home university. Please take note of the following deadlines for your Application form:

1 June of each year to start in September of the same year

15 November of each year to start in February of the next year

If you start in the first semester, the deadline for the Learning Agreement is 1 July.
