Rosalind Franklin Fellowship

at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences

To promote the participation of women in Liberal Arts and Natural Sciences the University of Groningen offers a prestigious fellowship programme, named after Rosalind Franklin, whose X-ray studies of DNA were crucial to solving its structure.

These fellowships were first initiated by the
Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in 2002. The fellowships of the faculty are awarded to outstanding women scientists from any of the disciplines mathematics, physics, astronomy, chemistry, biology, pharmacy, environmental studies, computing science and artificial intelligence. * Presently, 16 fellows are working at the faculty.

We are looking for ambitious, creative women who aim for a successful independent career towards full professorship in a European top research university. Successful candidates will be expected to establish an independent, externally funded research program in collaboration with colleagues at our university and elsewhere. They will also be expected to participate in and contribute to the development of the teaching programme of the Faculty. RF Fellowships are funded with a generous startup package, worth around 200,000 euro.
