Centre for Ecological and Evolutionary Studies

The Centre for Ecological and Evolutionary Studies (CEES) is a research institute of the University of Groningen, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. CEES embraces nine research groups all located at the Centre for Life Sciences, Groningen.

CEES coordinates the local Research School Ecology and Evolution (RSEE). Within CEES, RSEE provides a framework for planning, course work, supervision, professional development and mentoring of its >125 PhD students from the starting phase of their project to the completion of their thesis.

CEES also coordinates the Top programme Evolutionary Biology that is embedded in the Master programme Ecology & Evolution, and that is aiming at talented students pursuing a research career. This programme is also offered as Erasmus Mundus Master Programme in Evolutionary Biology (see the MEME website for more information).
