Behavioural Ecology and Self-organization

The group Behavioural Ecology and Self-organization (BESO) focuses on understanding the self-organization and evolution of social behaviour in animals by using a combined theoretical and experimental approach in the field.

The BESO group participates in the Centre for Ecological and Evolutionary Studies (CEES), which also harbours the research groups Animal Ecology, Community and Conservation Ecology, Evolutionary Genetics, Marine Benthic Ecology and Evolution, Marine Evolution and Conservation, Microbial Ecology, Plant Ecophysiology and Theoretical Biology. We closely collaborate with groups of the Centre for Behaviour and Neurosciences (CBN) and the Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Engineering Institute (ALICE).
