Theme

Equal Opportunities for Broad Prosperity

This year’s theme is Equal Opportunities for Broad Prosperity. How can we create a society in which everyone has the opportunity to develop their talents and contribute to economic and social progress? How can education, research and collaboration help ensure that prosperity is shared broadly across regions, generations and communities?

These questions are particularly relevant for the Northern Netherlands. The North faces important prospects in areas such as innovation, sustainability and regional development. Realising these ambitions requires collaboration between universities, businesses, governments and society, and a shared commitment to ensuring that prosperity benefits all.

We are pleased to welcome Karien van Gennip, former Minister of Social Affairs and Employment and Supervisory Board member of ASML, and Pascal Roemers, member of the Provincial Executive of Groningen responsible for housing, employment and regional development. Drawing on their experience in public policy, business and regional development, they will explore how national ambitions and regional strengths can reinforce one another, and discuss the role of knowledge institutions such as FEB in creating opportunities for people, organisations and communities to thrive.
