The aim of occupational safety is to keep risks of accidents, fire, explosions, etc. under control.
A safety expert provides advice on technical and organizational aspects of preventing situations that are unsafe for staff and students,
paying attention, for example, to the state of repair and furnishing of buildings, workshops and laboratories, as well as regulations and rules of conduct.
Emergencies
If, despite this, an accident or calamity does happen, the University has an in-house emergency services department that provides fast and effective aid so as to avoid further injury and damage.
Travelling abroad
Are you travelling abroad for work? Check beforehand whether the region is safe. The University of Groningen usually
follows the advice of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
