Applying for a grant

Please note!

You cannot directly apply for an Eric Bleumink Fund (EBF) Talent Grant. The Admissions office and the Faculty Admission Boards nominate suitable candidates. If you are nominated for an Eric Bleumink Fund (EBF) Talent Grant, you will be informed before February 1st, 2017. If we do not contact you, you are unfortunately not selected. Please do not contact us with applications.

The funds raised by the Eric Bleumink Fund (EBF) are made available with the intention to provide grants to students from the least developed countries.
This concerns promising students who wish to obtain a Master’s degree. They may be invited to study at the University of Groningen. The training of the candidates should make a contribution to increasing the academic capability of the country in question.

The EBF Talent Grant is popular: each year the University of Groningen received hundreds of applications for an Eric Bleumink Talent Grant. Since only few of them can be awarded with a scholarship the Rules and Regulations needed an update. You can download the updated Rules and Regulations here.

You cannot directly apply for an Eric Bleumink Fund (EBF) Talent Grant. The Admissions office and the Faculty Admission Boards nominate suitable candidates. The nomination is based on: 1) your application to one of our Master degree programs and 2) on the EBF nomination criteria. If you are nominated for an Eric Bleumink Fund (EBF) Talent Grant, you will be informed before February 1st, 2017. If we do not contact you, you are unfortunately not selected. Please do not contact us with applications.

Only applicants that have received a (conditional) admission offer for a master programme before February can thus be considered. In order to allow for enough time to process the application to a master programme by the Admission Office, such a master application should be completed by the applicant before 1st of December 2016.

If you have not been notified by the Admission Office about an EBF nomination by 1st of February 2017, this means that, unfortunately, you were not selected as one of the EBF nominees. Any further correspondence about this procedure is not possible.
