Scrivere è (r)esistere: la Resistenza nel romanzo contemporaneo

This ongoing project focuses on the concepts of ‘resistance’ and ‘anti-fascism’ in contemporary literature and culture. I engage with novels on the partisan war published in Italy between 2000 and 2022 by combining literary analysis with cultural and memory studies in order to answer the following questions: How is anti-fascism reconstructed in contemporary Italian novels? How might the recent revival of this topic in Italian culture be explained? What meanings has the word ‘resistance’ acquired in recent literature? To what extent does this literary production aim to reshape our collective imagery of anti-fascism and might be considered a form of artistic activism?
