Debates

During a study or research stay at KNIR with a scholarship, you are given ample opportunity for individual study and research. The real added value of your stay lies in the academic community of researchers, students and staff who live and work at the institute. The exchange of knowledge and ideas, discussion of ongoing research, and learning from one another are central.
These elements come together in the KNIR Debates that we organise at KNIR during the scholarship periods. During these debates, our scholarship holders present their ongoing research to the other guests and to the academic staff of KNIR. These are informal meetings where the emphasis is on learning and inspiration. The presentations are not summaries of the research project; rather, the aim is to present a key problem or question to those present. The discussion that follows, introduced by a fellow Scholarshipholder, forms the core of these meetings. Through constructive feedback, the participants in the discussion support students and early-career researchers in the progress of their research.
The KNIR Debates are crucial to our research activities. It therefore goes without saying that all our students and guests staying at KNIR take part and actively contribute.
