The Royal Dutch Institute in Rome (KNIR) Education

Educational profile

KNIR’s educational mission is to inspire students to study Rome and Italy and the influence and significance of Italy and Italian culture, past and present, in Italy and beyond, through teaching and research on location in Rome.

KNIR education challenges you and is interactive: there is extensive interaction between lecturers and students and among students themselves; the quality of these relationships greatly enhances the learning experience.

KNIR education is intensive: in a short period of time, you learn an enormous amount. The 24/7 availability of the library and the material culture lab strongly contributes to this.

Students participating in a KNIR course stay at the institute free of charge and receive a travel reimbursement upon successful completion of the course. Excursions are also (largely) funded by KNIR. For the conditions, please consult the description of the individual courses.

Apply now for one of our upcoming courses and come to Rome for an unforgettable learning experience!
