Becoming a researcher yourself

Something in your professional career or private life has sparked your ambition to start a research yourself. You might even think about writing a dissertation? To take the first step to make your dreams come true, you will need a research plan, a supervisor and funding. As an UG alumnus you might like to contact your former lecturers first to discuss your ideas. In some cases there are funding possibilities by your employer or another organisation.

Her employer pays to do research on the theme of hospitality in language for three a week. Hospitality is an important theme in hotels and restaurants, but it is also interesting for language courses, daily life and for the academic world. When do people think and feel someone is really welcoming and what is it exactly in their language that makes us feel that way? More information (in Dutch): Taal en gastvrijheid
