The unpredictable consequences of Trump's trade policy

In an article in the (Dutch) Volkskrant, Marcel Timmer is interviewed on the consequences of the trade negotiations between the NAFTA countries, the United States, Mexico and Canada. He argues that the inter-connected nature of trade and production means that other countries can easily suffer from higher trade barriers between NAFTA countries. He also expects that Canada will have to accommodate (some of) Trump's demands as they are the weaker party in the bilateral negotiations.
