|Date:||14 June 2022|
On June 9th, The Economist featured research by John Fernald of INSEAD Business School and GGDC director Robert Inklaar. In their article 'The UK Productivity “Puzzle” in an International Comparative Perspective', they argue that most of Britain’s slowdown in the decade before the pandemic reflected weaker performance in America, which sets the tempo of productivity globally. The paper is hosted on the website of The Productivity Institute.
