Where the UK government was not able to come up with a clear estimate of the impact of Brexit across sectors, Bart Los and Wen Chen, collaborating with Philip McCann (Sheffield) and Raquel Ortega-Argilés (Birmingham) have done so in a new policy briefing. They find that many important manufacturing and primary industries are highly exposed to Brexit, but so are many services industries. These are not just the financial services industries or those that export directly to EU countries, but also those that sell intensively within domestic supply chains to UK manufacturing firms exporting to the EU.
