DFH/Human Data is developing an online platform where researchers can easily get access to relevant tools and services for data management. Via research-relevant browsing features, user-oriented filtering, advanced search capability, researchers at UG/UMCG will be able to access the most relevant tools and services, but also policies, practices and expertise.
This platform also aims at promoting collaboration and communication among researchers, service providers, and a range of experts with the aim to share best practices and further innovation in health sciences regionally connected to (inter)national initiatives.

The DFH/Human data platform will include services and tools for the whole data lifecycle - from Data Preparation, Collection, Processing, Analysis, Preservation, Access, and Re-Use. It will include access to experts and specialists on data, namely legal experts in the field of data, privacy and IP, security experts, and data scientists. In offering all the above DFH aims to bridge the regional hub-and-spoke network with the Health RI national initiative.
Tina Kretschmer on HSR:
“I contacted Esther Hoorn to respond to issues raised by the ERC Ethics Committee and extremely valued her availability and willingness to not only serve as my Data Protection and Privacy consultant but also dig deeper into issues related to these themes within my ERC grant. Esther suggested to conducted a Data Privacy Impact Assessment Scoping Report prior to starting the project as well as two Data Privacy Impact Assessments during the project, which was highly appreciated by the ERC Ethics Committee. Esther also encouraged me to carry out a "side project" on developing tools for obtaining assent for research participation from young children, which I might actually do!”
