Nanophone

--
What is it about?

On the nanometre scale – that is 0.000000001 metres – there are many keys to understanding what makes our world tick. They also open up many new possibilities – what about a molecular vehicle that can take drugs right into our body’s cells? Or very smart solar cells?

How do scientists use this knowledge?

University of Groningen nano scientists are building molecules to make materials with new properties. For example, the Groningen Stratingh Institute hit the world headlines with the first design for a nanomotor in 1999 and nano car in 2011.
