Customer Insights Center (RUGCIC) About us

Working at CIC

Wanted: Student Assistant at the Customer Insights Center of the University of Groningen (16 hours per week)

You will be the right hand of the director and the team at the Customer Insights Center (CIC). Together, you will connect companies to the marketing department of the University of Groningen. This is achieved by organizing events for CIC member companies, such as VodafoneZiggo, Wehkamp, and Syncasso. Additionally, you will maintain contacts with these companies and come up with ideas to strengthen and expand the member network, bringing marketing into practice!

You will enjoy:

  • Working independently
  • Being the point of contact for companies
  • Implementing planning and structure
  • Organizing events from start to finish
  • Working in a dynamic environment

This is you:

  • You are in your Master's, Pre-Msc, or third year of your Bachelor's at the University of Groningen
  • You have practical experience: either in a committee, a board year, or a job
  • You are entrepreneurial and proactive
  • Available from May 2024 and for at least two more years. Note: From May to August, the contract is on a flexible basis, so you won't work 16 hours every week.
  • Flexible: busy weeks before an event, quieter weeks otherwise. Salary is consistent every month from September (based on an average of 16 hours per week).
  • Your motto: "I've never done it, so I think I can do it"
  • You have an affinity for marketing and communication
  • You are digitally skilled, creative, and enjoy mastering digital tools like Canva.

What you're looking for in a job:

  • Money. A good salary (plus holiday pay and a 13th month) based on your age and experience at the university, for 16 hours a week.
  • Regular contact with the marketing managers of our corporate members quickly builds your network.
  • Autonomy: you decide when you work, and exams always take priority.
  • Your own desk. In the Duisenberg building, you share an office with the director, including your own fully-equipped desk, which you can also use for studying (more chill than the UB ;)).
  • An informal work atmosphere with plenty of socials, great colleagues, and other activities.
  • Unlimited vacation days, as long as you promise to come back.
