The library wants to offer you a pleasant place to work and study in. That’s why we have these three rules:
-
Only lockable water bottles are allowed in the reading rooms- outside these spaces, eating, drinking and the use of mobile phones is permitted
-
Coats and bags are allowed in the building- But of course, you can also store them safely in the lockers
-
Be considerate of the other library users- You may use your cellphone in the stairway and in the cafeteria, but: - set your phone to vibrate not ring in the reading rooms, preferably completely off. (TIP: turn your phone off as soon as you enter the library.) - Don’t talk too loudly in the stairway or near the reading rooms.
When a library user does not live up to the house rules, he or she is warned twice. After that, a letter is handed out with the this text.
Remember: these rules also apply to the digital werkstations! Please, do not use your phone, talk loudly, eat or drink near the computers.
Note: in the Special Collections Department, no coats are allowed, nor baskets or water bottles. This of course because of the vulnerable collection in the department. Moreover, the corridor leading to this department is a Silence Area! No talking here...
