Registration of academic output

More and more academics are submitting their electronic publications for digital archiving in repositories. Metis, a database where research information is registered and made available worldwide, is designed specifically for research reports.

Metis

Metis is a database for research information where universities, departments, research institutes or individual academics can register their research data online and make them available worldwide. Metis is now the default application for this purpose in the Netherlands: it is used by all Dutch universities and academic institutions.

Both basic information about the research (title, topic, purpose, methodology, etc.) and more extensive information, such as the research group, individual researchers, and in particular the research output (all information concerning publications, abstracts, etc.) can be entered in Metis.

This will result in a database which will prove very useful as an overview and for analysing an institution’s current research. Future publications that you submit will be included in the summaries that are generated within the framework of research reporting. You will thus only have to complete one form to have your publication processed in both Metis and the repository.

How to submit your publications

Academics can have document descriptions of their publications and other material included in Metis. The full text of the document can also easily be entered via a web form, on which the information from Metis will be displayed and additional information can be entered. The full text will also be uploaded via this form. This way, data can be entered simultaneously into Metis and repositories.

  • Please contact your faculty’s Metis manager if you want to have your publications included in Metis and/or a repository. The Metis managers are listed in the menu on the left.
