Information about working conditions, safety, etc. for University Library staff and visitors
The Working Conditions Act 1998 requires organizations to pay structural attention to the working conditions within the company. According to the Working Conditions Decree for Education, this structural attention not only applies to staff but also to the students of the educational institute. The RUG has its own Health, Safety and Environment Service (AMD), which advises the decentralized units and provides support in implementing the Working Conditions policy.
The UB is itself responsible for executing its policy concerning working conditions and environment. A Health, Safety and Environmental Co-ordinator (AMC) co-ordinates the activities in the field of working conditions and acts as a registration point and information centre for staff and students of the University Library.

The UB also has an in-house emergency service (BHV), responsible for safety and care provision within the UB. The BHV of the UB consists of a BHV team leader, a fire-fighting team, a first-aid team and a team of wardens. In the event of a calamity, or during the annual fire drill, the wardens will assist staff and public.
