BHO – Book History Online

Book History Online (BHO) is an international English-language database on the history of libraries and the printed book.

BHO contains approx. 25,000 descriptions of monographs and journal articles from over 30 countries, published after 1989. BHO is based on the ABHB, Annual Bibliography of the History of the Printed Book and Libraries, which is published annually. The Special Collections Department of the National Library has been the editor of ABHB since 1989. A database is also being maintained, accessible under the name Book History Online. The database can be searched using any word in the description, for example by author, staff, title words, journal titles, subject, geographical terminology, periods, personal names (for example publishers or printers), names of libraries and companies, etc.
