Page content:
The Library has developed a toolbar to simplify searches in the various databases, to keep track of published theses, to present the latest Library news, etc.
In short, this toolbar gives you access to all the important library facilities from a single location, without you having to click back and forth on our website.
How does it work?
You only have to install the toolbar once; the toolbar will then appear in Internet Explorer.
-
At your workstation:
Install the toolbar via the RUG Menu > Library services > Tools > Library toolbar installation
-
Students and home use:
Download the toolbar
|
RSS feeds of library and university news
|
What does the Library toolbar offer?
-
Direct search option in the Library Catalogue, as well as in electronic databases, e-books, Picarta, Scopus, etc.
- Viewing option for news articles about the Library, press releases from the University, etc. without having to go to the website (RSS feeds)
-

|

|
Extra possibilities
- Once you have installed the toolbar, you can adapt it to your wishes, with direct shortcuts to Word and Excel, for example, or with RSS feeds to your favourite websites.
- In addition, you can remove links and shortcuts you never use from your personalized toolbar.
-
Read the Help pages for more info
Tip: some specialist libraries have developed their own toolbars, with links, files, news feeds, etc., relevant to that faculty.
How can you make the toolbar visible or invisible?
- Clicking on the grey cross to the far left of the toolbar will make it invisible.
If you want to make it visible again, go to the View menu and click on Toolbars, then tick the BibliotheekRUG toolbar on again.
- The toolbar can also be permanently uninstalled via Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs.
Click on BibliotheekRUG Toolbar and then on Change/Remove.
