King’s Day theme at the language café!
This coming weekend is King’s Day, and we enjoy celebrating it! Café de las Lenguas is organizing a themed evening about King’s Day and the Dutch language on Thursday. The programme will include traditional Dutch games and a presentation on the history of King’s Day. It promises to be an evening full of fun, with room to expand your cultural knowledge and language skills!
In addition to these activities, the regular language café also continues in another part of the canteen. Café de las Lenguas, an initiative of the Language Centre, organizes an evening every Thursday where you can practise speaking a foreign language in an informal setting. Everyone is welcome at the language café: participants of all ages and nationalities, students and non-students. ‘Language tables’ will be set up depending on who is participating. Both native speakers of a language and participants wanting to learn that language can sit at these ‘language tables’. During the evening, you can occasionally switch between the tables of your choice. This way, you can improve your own language skills, help other language learners, meet new people, and get a taste of different cultures!
