Start doubling bike path Zernikelaan as of 6 March
As of Monday 6 March work on the bike path of east side of the Zernikelaan will start. The changes include: making a two-way bike path, making a footpath along the ‘Paddenbos’, adjusting the junction to Nijenborgh 4 and finally providing additional public lighting where necessary. The activities start from the central monitoring building and will be carried northward, to the junction of the Willem Alexander Sports Hall.
Preparation work for Feringa Building
The footpath will be renewed in preparation for the construction of the new Feringa Building . Later on, also changes will be made to access of the campus for bicycles around the Crematoriumlaan, so that cyclists and construction traffic can cross each other more clearly. Also, the Nijenborgh road will be largely closed (the new building will be placed there) and P1 will be moved later. More details will follow later.
Completed on 17 March
The work will be performed by Antea Production BV and is this first part of the adjustments to the bike path is expected to be completed around 17 March. During the work all buildings remain accessible. On site measures are in place to ensure a safe situation and to enhance the traffic flow.
The following impressions show where the new building will be placed. The road Nijenborgh - on the east side of the campus - will therefore be closed. Once the demolition of Nijenborgh 4 is completed, a park-like setting will be created with wide bicycle and walking paths.
